Don't expect your 1980's Johnny
The keyboard player and violin player had a segment of the show all to themselves in which they did an knock out job and provided us with an artistic variation of some of those more popular songs. Although I can appreciate a variety of music, I will grudgingly admit that I would have liked to heard a few more of his older tunes with a new spin. Every show I have been to has been different. His current tour will probably not appeal to many people younger than 40 who think they are coming to see a show of all his greatest hits. He introduced quite a few new songs and music with a totally different sound from his top 40 stuff. Let me preface this by saying that this is the third time I have seen North Mississippi Allstars. The acoustic version of Jack and Diane was great.
